Directions for Visitors
Deposit is located on Route 17 (or new I-86) about 150 miles northwest of New York City and about 30 miles east of Binghamton.
When traveling from the east on Route 17 (or new I-86) from the NY City area, get off at exit 84, continue along routes 8 and 10 for about a half mile and take the first left. Go across the bridge, (this is Pine St.) and continue through the blinker light and on to Second Street. Left on Second St. and the Deposit Historical Society Museum will be the second building on your right (145 Second St.) Parking is available in the rear through the driveway on the left of the building. The Research Library and House Museum is left of the driveway.
When traveling from the west on Route 17 (or new I-86) from the Binghamton area, get off at exit 83 and make a right on 17c. This will turn into Second St. Go about 2 miles and the Deposit Historical Society Museum will be on the left just before the flashing light at the intersection of Second and Pine streets. Parking is available in the rear through the driveway on the left of the building. Research Library and House Museum is left of the driveway.
If you are coming in on Route I-88 from Albany or Binghamton, take the Sidney exit to NY Route 8 and continue south through Masonville to Deposit. After you reach the Stilesville bridge over the river, continue on to the signs (and reduced speed limits) that indicate you are entering the village limits. When you reach the village limits, take your first right. Go across the bridge, (this is Pine St.) and continue through the blinking light and on to Second St. Turn left and the Deposit Historical Society Museum will be the second building on your right (145 Second St.) Parking is available in the rear through the driveway on the left of the building. Research Library and House Museum is left of the driveway.
If you get to Deposit but still need directions, be assured that the people in Deposit are VERY friendly and will point you in the right direction!!
